Scheduled Tasks
Scheduled tasks let Silk do recurring work on its own: a morning digest, a weekly report, a monthly invoice run. Each one runs as a background agent at the time you choose.
Creating a schedule
- Open the Silk panel and choose Scheduled tasks from the menu.
- Click New schedule.
- Under When, describe the timing in plain words, for example “every weekday at 9am” or “on the 1st of each month at 9am”. Silk fills in the timing for you, or you can set it by hand.
- Under What Silk should do, write the task as if you were asking a person who wasn’t there when you set it up: “Summarise yesterday’s orders and email them to me.”
- Optionally give it a Name, and tick Send the results to my Telegram chat if you use the Telegram Bridge.
- Click Schedule it.
Repeat options
| Repeat | Example |
|---|---|
| Daily | Every day at 8:00 |
| Weekly | Every Monday and Thursday at 17:30 (pick the days) |
| Monthly | The 1st of each month at 9:00. Months without that day run on their last day. |
| Every N | Every 90 minutes. 15 minutes is the minimum, and spacing counts from the previous run. |
| Once | A single run at a date and time you pick |
Times use your computer’s time zone, shown under the timing when you create the schedule.
Managing schedules
In the Scheduled Tasks window, each schedule has buttons to:
- Run now: run it immediately, without changing its schedule. A good way to test a new one.
- Pause / Resume: stop it temporarily without deleting it.
- Edit or Delete.
Scheduling from Telegram
If you’ve connected the Telegram Bridge, you can manage schedules from your phone:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/schedule every weekday at 9am, email me the orders | Create a schedule: the timing, a comma, then the task |
/schedules | List your schedules with their numbers |
/pause 1 / /resume 1 | Pause or resume schedule number 1 |
/unschedule 1 | Delete schedule number 1 |
/startup on | Start Silk at login, so schedules always fire |
Plan limits
The Basic plan includes one active schedule at a time. Higher plans have no limit.
Tips
- Write instructions that stand on their own. A scheduled run doesn’t see your earlier conversation, so include everything it needs: which inbox, which folder, where to send the result.
- Test with Run now before relying on a new schedule.
- Unattended jobs suit careful models. If accuracy matters more than speed, see Choosing an AI Model.
